I always have the impression of making own soymilk is so troublesome. The traditional ways to make it needs overnight soaks, grind the beans, filter the milk and then carefully boil it but not to burn it. So many steps….
After I got the Vitamix, lots of friends told me they use it to blend soymilk and it turns out really simple and tastes great. The best part is, you can blend the serving for the day each time. Since the natural soymilk spoils really fast, the traditional method which makes a big pod of soymilk bothers small family size like mine. With this method, I can just freeze the beans and took out whatever portion you are planning on making. Very convenient and simple

We recently got a new All-Clad stainless steel sauce pan. I’m so excited to try it out. This copper core pan heat up pretty fast and even. However, I’m still trying to figure out how to turn it into a non-stick pan. For this dish, it still sticks a little onion when I fried, but since it turns into a sauce, all the glaze on the pan cooked into the liquid so it turned out ok this time. I would need more practice and experiments for straight pan fried dishes though. Any suggestions or tips for stainless steel pans? You can always prepare more pie crust dough and just freeze it. I would defrost the dough the night before making pies and then roll it onto the pie pan and put it back to the fridge. In this way, the pie shell would have enough time to rest in the fridge to prevent shrinking from baking. Continue reading Quiche with turkey leftovers 法式鹹派
