When surfing what good restaurants are around my area, this place caught my eye with really good reviews on yelp and some other websites. Moreover, their patriotism triggered my interests even more.
MISSION BBQ opened its doors for business on September 11, 2011.
Ten years after our world changed forever, in some small way we wanted to change it back.
As the founders of MISSION BBQ, we strive every day to remind everyone what makes Our Country great—its heroes.
Who are we? Two friends passionate about BBQ, patriotic for Our Country, and who believe in running a business with meaning and purpose.

As you look from outside to inside of the business, everything is tactical. From the hardcore sign of MISSION BBQ with the huge star to the humvee catering truck to the ribbon overflowing interiors.
Yeah… This is their catering truck parking right in front of the restaurant.
All kinds of badges stick on the wall inside the seating areas. It’s crowded no matter what time. Even though the restaurant is extremely busy, the owner and the staffs are extremely friendly and he even stopped by while we are waiting for our food and chat with us.
The owner introduced to us the restaurant will ask everyone to stand up and play national anthem to honor the men and women in service at noon everyday. This is a nice and cute concept, but I’m not sure if I would find it touching or disturbing if I have a handful and mouthful of food to stop eating and stand up to sing the national anthem. 😛
The pricing of the food is fairly reasonable. I almost wanted to try it all, but we only have 2 people.
There are total 6 different kinds of BBQ sauce that you can try: TEXAS Twang, Smoky Mountain, Memphis Belle, KC Classic, Bay-B-Que, and Tupelo Honey Heat. You will get 6 small samples if you order togo. I don’t like my BBQ sauce too sweet nor sour. I do like their smoky mountain the most. It is slightly sweet with a touch of smoky flavor, but not too smoky which is great with ribs.
This is what we end up bringing home!!!
#1: Half yard chicken!!!!! (Top left) OMG this is the best roast chicken I have ever had. They told you the chicken was smoked so the meat would be slightly pink but it is done. They were completely right. The meat is just so tender and the smoky flavor and the meat juice is just full of your mouth when you were chewing. SO GOOD!!! Must Try!!
We also tried the baby back ribs, Brisket, Pulled pork and the mac-n-cheese and cornbread as side. They were all good, but the half chicken was just blown me away.
I kinda understand why it is always so crowded. The food you can get there was incredible, even slightly better than the BBQ I had in Texas. Plus the patriotic theme, I’m sure that definitely also helps to make this successful business model. However, I would just wonder why wouldn’t they offer military discount while they use the patriotic image to market the branding but contributing the minimum benefits for those so respected service men and women?
