Since our last blender broken, we haven’t got a new one for a while. I thought I would be fine living without a blender for the rest of my life until one imposive purchase in store after watching the demo of Vitamix. LOL
Afterall, blender wasn’t a necessary tool in the kitchen though except for a couple recipes needed the blender. I thought about buying a new one but was ending up talking myself out of it all the time. Vitamix was the brand I have heard good stories from friends and families many times, but I was a little shocked by the price though. (Who pays that much for a blender? was my first thought when I heard it.)
Of course, Vitamix got the #1 in the America’s Test Kitchen blender test video:
There’s another recommended model in the video: Breville Hemisphere. It was smaller in size, and cost about half of the price of Vitamix. I then thinking about maybe get this one instead? Until I saw this video comparing the two model’s performances side by side. You can still see chunks and pieces after a while in Breville while Vitamix blends it all into juices. Pretty impressive!!
For the past couple weeks after I got this big thing in my kitchen, I have been testing different functions and recipes on the Vitamix machine. Surprisingly, it became the appliance I used the most often in the kitchen now. So far, I’m really happy with it and would definitely recommend to people who are looking for a new blender.
I have tried to make mango sorbet with just fruit and ice, no water at all. The result turned out perfect. It turns everything into very smooth sorbet in seconds.
Not to mention all kinds of smoothies and frozen cocktail drinks~ My favorite in the Summer time!!
I even used it to chop onions and carrots. The result turns out nice, too.
