[Front Royal, VA] Skyline Caverns, the underground wonderland 維吉尼亞州, Skyline 鐘乳石洞

Recommendation: 80%

Just about one and a half hour drive from the DC area, the Skyline Caverns is a nice weekend getaway from the city. This was my first caverns experience in the States. The 1.5 hour walking tour is full of awe and imagination. (Cave Tour $20/ Adult)

They do offer military discount with $2 off per adult. However, you could also download the coupon from their website to have the same discount.

Most of the tunnels in the caves are naturally formed with only a few grab bars and lighting installation. It’s chilly down there!! Bring a light jacket with you and wear comfortable walking shoes.

This is a relatively “young” cavern. Therefore, the formation is relatively smaller, but the special shapes and reflection from the water creates a fantasy illusion which makes you feel like being in a dream or outer space.

This is a LIVE catfish they grow in the water down here.

The wishing stone, the only formation in the cave that’s touchable.

The rarely formed “Anthodites” in Skyline Caverns. Only 3 other places on earth has the same formation.
