Shenandoah National Park in Virginia, located just 2 hours away from where we live, is known for its skyline drive, forest, and countless trails. Luckily, we got a free night in Hampton Inn worldwide which would soon be expired. We decided to explore the Shenandoah National Park area for a 2 day 1 night trip.
We stayed in the Hampton Inn Front Royal, which located just right outside of the north entrance of Shenandoah National Park and the Skyline Caverns.
There are three caverns around the area: Skyline Caverns, Shenandoah Caverns, and Luray Caverns. We picked the Skyline Caverns because it is the closest to where we stay and the rare formation for its “Anthodites” (Crystal Florals.)
The tour is about 1.5 hours in total. Remember to bring a light jacket with you when you visit. The cave is about 50 degrees all year round. It’s chill down there.

Shenandoah National Park
We just did a small portion of the national park to drive along the skyline drive, did a little Appalachian Trail and connected to the trail to overall water fall. The driving and hiking around the forest was fun. We would want to visit here again during the Fall season for sure!! It’s going to be gorgeous when all the leaves turn color. Copper Fox Distillery
Totally worth a visit if you are in the area. The Copper Fox Distillery popped up when I search for attractions around this area and I found there’s a blue ridge whisky wine loop. There are a bunch of vineyards but only one distillery. I have done beer tour before, but this would be my very first Whisky distillery tour. The place is full of story and the whisky taste great!! Totally worth the visit!!! *Though I’m not really a whisky person, you should ask J for more insights about the drinks. 😛
It was such a great little getaway and such nice weather over the memorial day long weekend. Wish everyone also had a enjoyable memorial weekend & Appreciation for all uniformed services!!
